In the Science Policy Forum, Stacy Jackson argues that pollutants with shorter lifetimes than carbon dioxide (CO2) should receive comparable attention as CO2 , which has a long lifetime in the atmosphere.
I wonder how such a parallel pursuit is facilitated by the current agreements, especially for developed countries, but also by developing countries. Or do we need another treaty in addition to the Copenhagen agreement?
Stacy C. Jackson (2009) Parallel Pursuit of Near-Term and Long-Term Climate Mitigation; abstract: Two separate treaties are needed to address the unique climate roles of long-lived versus medium- and short-lived pollutants.
